Investigation underway after fatal shooting near I-37, Corpus Christi police say
An investigation was underway late Thursday after the death of a man who had suffered a gunshot wound, according to Corpus Christi police.
In a news release published online, officials wrote that officers, responding to a report of a shooting, were dispatched at about 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day to a location in the 5200 block of Interstate Highway 37.
There, police found an injured a man in the parking lot of a business, the post states. He later died at an area hospital, police say.
The name of the business and the identity and age of the deceased man were not disclosed.
A person police suspect to have been “involved” left the scene before officers arrived at the location, according to the post.
