Is 7 Days to Die Crossplay? – Answered
Following perhaps one of the most prolonged development periods in Early Access, with few exceptions, 7 Days to Die finally launched into 1.0. Currently, fans appeared mixed on the reception, primarily due to the price increase. But most importantly, everyone is excitedly diving into the zombie survival game once more. With so many new players, questions arise. Like, is 7 Days to Die crossplay?
Does 7 Days to Die Have Crossplay?
Yes and no. 7 Days to Die is partially crossplay and cross-platform, but it’s slightly confusing, so let’s clear things up. You cannot play 7 Days to Die between PC and console players, at least not yet. The studio is working on implementing full crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. However, it’s not yet available as of the game’s 1.0 launch.
That said, there is some crossplay functionality available right now. The game’s current version supports crossplay between Steam and Windows Store copies of 7 Days to Die, meaning anyone playing on Xbox Game Pass can easily connect with Steam owners.
Again, crossplay between PC and consoles is coming. The team is aiming for Q4 2024 with their first major update, Storm’s Brewing. That may change, as most things in game development do, though.

Is 7 Days to Die Worth Playing Now?
Having spent the better part of the last decade off and on playing 7 Days to Die with friends and family, I can attest to the overall quality and enjoyment the game provides. However, many aren’t happy with the progress made by the team at The Fun Pimps. Namely, the various rollbacks and system overhauls, such as the skill system, completely altered the gameplay.
That said, if you already own the game after buying a copy in Early Access, there’s no reason not to redownload and play the 1.0 launch. If you’re on the fence and don’t yet own the game, the price increase does make things slightly murkier. It’s $44.99 now in 1.0, which is a lot of money for an indie game. Is it worth that much? Yes, I do believe so. If it clicks for you, you’ll wind up with hundreds of hours of gameplay. If not, refund it within the two-hour window on Steam.
It took a staggering ten years for 7 Days to Die to leave Early Access. But now that’s it out, we’re looking forward to new content. For now, consider signing up to the Insider Gaming Newsletter!
