Is Enotria: The Last Song a Soulslike? – Answered
From Elden Ring to Black Myth: Wukong to Lies of P, we’re in an age overflowing with Soulslike titles, and to some, it’s becoming too much. They want a break. Well, thankfully, there’s plenty to play. For those who love the genre, there’s more to come. But is Enotria: The Last Song a Soulslike?
Is Enotria Soulslike?
People like to label things. It’s human nature. Sometimes, those labels fit; other times, not so much. But in the case of Enotri: The Last Song, Soulslike absolutely fits as a defining genre label. It’s a Soulslike through and through, with elements borrowed from Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
That said, developer Jyamma Games intends to create a challenge-yet-approachable experience that borrows heavily from From Software titles but wants to simplify some of the studio’s more complex mechanics to ensure they’re more approachable for the average player.
The most significant change from the formula is the ability to mix and match play styles and build types on the fly. You’re never stuck playing a single build, forced to restart the entire game to test something new. You can swap between three loadouts on the go, allowing you to approach challenges differently.

How Hard is Enotria?
I’ll be honest; I’m not the best at Soulslike games whatsoever, despite my love for them. I struggle with seemingly straightforward boss types for upwards of an hour or two before finally overcoming the challenge. But that doesn’t stop me from playing each new one that releases, and it won’t stop me from enjoying Enotria: The Last Song on release day.
All of that is to add context to the fact that, when I had hands-on time playing Enotria last, it was a welcome and accessible Soulslike that, while full of challenging encounters, I managed to work through the demo areas relatively easily. If you have any experience playing Elden Ring, Sekiro, or, more recently, Black Myth: Wukong, then you’ll find Enotria a welcome endeavor!
You can boost your power level in some titles, like when you level up fast in Black Myth: Wukong before facing the Wandering Wight. Here’s hoping Enotria offers something similar to those who enjoy the grind!
