It Takes a Lot Longer Than You’d Think to Create Those Scantily Clad The First Descendant Characters

A recent interview with The First Descendant characters design team has shed some light on the process of creating those scantily clad characters we love not just for their looks but also abilities. The interview revealed that there is more to the creation process than at first thought by many fans.

The First Descendant took the world by storm as the next go-to looter shooter, chipping away the player base of such titles as Destiny 2 and Warframe among others, and this seems to be just the beginning of a third-person shooter that will stay on the market for years to come.

There is more to Descendant Than First Thought

The characters or successors in The First Descendant have impressed players not only with their revealing aesthetics but also with detailed motions, gameplay mechanics, story, and personality overall. Behind each character is a creative team and an entire creation process.

The concept phase takes around three weeks according to one member of the design team, which is just for the character’s basic look and attributes. However, this is the foundation work for the rest of the team as from there on others are responsible for how the character will fit into the game’s world.

After the concept phase, the modeling phase takes over, which lasts around a month and the core concept becomes a detailed 3D model. From there on, it is the crafting of textures and structures that is responsible for bringing the character to life.

The hardest part of The First Descendant characters crafting process must be the animations and effects as every player is so detailed with multiple moves and skills that aren’t easy to craft.

Furthermore, each of these characters has skins incoming in the future, which only proves the dedication of the creative design team of The First Descendant as they strive to make the characters appealing to the players.

Fans Have a Few Suggestions for The First Descendant Characters

All third-person RPGs let players customize their characters to an extent to be rendered as unique as possible. However, The First Descendant lacks many customization options seen in other similar games and players have a few suggestions about it.

One player suggested that having the option to toggle the helmet on and off, or at least the visors, would be ideal so that players can see their characters’ faces.

Another fan supported the sentiment by requesting an option to toggle the helmet off, as seen in the makeup preview feature.

This is just one item that players want to be implemented into customization options.

Furthermore, another player said that they want to see a customization system with more options.

They pointed out that the current system is very limited and requires purchases for any significant changes, contrasting it with Warframe’s extensive customization options. This fan hopes for a rework that allows for more freedom in character appearance from the start.

Furthermore, one player wishes for an option to change hair colors, lamenting the current restrictions and predictive looks of in-game characters.

Nevertheless, the fact is that the creative team is working hard on bringing new characters to the game.

There are speculations of a possible ninja or a samurai, and always adding new options for already available characters, The First Descendant will turn into a highly enjoyable third-person shooter as it develops further.

Until that happens, what are your thoughts on the game so far? What is your favorite character in The First Descendant? Let us know in the comments below.
