Jennifer Chin: Parkwood mother pleads not guilty to stabbing daughter’s boyfriend

A mother accused of stabbing her teenage daughter’s boyfriend with a kitchen knife after she caught them having sex will fight the charges against her.

Jennifer Mui Len Chin appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday where she pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident that took place on October 17 in her Parkwood home.

At a previous hearing, the court was told the 48-year-old was inside her Parkwood home about 8pm that day when her daughter sneaked her then 14-year-old boyfriend into the house without her knowledge.

Police allege the mother then walked in on the two having consensual sex.

The court was told Ms Chin then allegedly chased the boy around the Gelding Close house with a 20cm knife before stabbing the teen twice in his chest and twice in his back.

It has also been alleged that in the midst of the incident, Ms Chin’s daughter stood between the pair in a bid to protect him.

The teenage boy was then taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

It has been alleged Ms Chin was unaware her daughter had a boyfriend at the time of the alleged stabbing.

Chin, who has been on strict bail conditions which included only having supervised visits with her daughter, is expected to appear in court again in November.
