Kalgoorlie Detectives urge community to be ‘on alert’ after firearm incident on Thursday

A Goldfields community is being urged to “be alert but not alarmed”, with police warning two men entered bushland before firing a gun in what could be a targeted attack.

Nobody was injured as a result of the incident, which police say happened near homes in bushland, in Boulder about 6pm on Thursday.

“Two males on a motorcycle were in bushland on the corner of Azamor Drive and Brackleman Drive, when it’s believed one the males discharged a firearm,” a WA Police statement said.

“The males then left the area on a motorcycle.”

“Police are investigating whether it was a targeted attack and, based on the investigation to this point, request that the community be alert but not alarmed.”

Kalgoorlie Detectives are seeking information from the public concerning the incident.

CCTV, mobile phone or dash cam footage can be uploaded directly to investigators here.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 00 or online.
