Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Dev Firing Back at Claims of Alleged Pre-Order Decline Over “Woke” Concerns Has Players Divided

If you’ve forgotten already, the Kingdom Come: Deliverance game was bashed for its lack of diversity. The game’s director, Daniel Vávra, pushed back against these claims, stating that the open-world title was a historically accurate representation. Six years later, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was revealed with a promise that it would honor a range of ethnicities.

The sequel also includes some LGTB scenes, which will lead to Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 getting banned in Saudi Arabia. Many gamers aren’t happy about the title being inclusive and state that all these factors have led to a low pre-order number for the title. However, Vávra has gone all-out against such pointless claims.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 debunks “woke” pre-order theories

Daniel Vávra has taken to Twitter/X and shared screenshots that debunk all rumors suggesting that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2‘s pre-orders have plummeted. He highlights a YouTube video titled “woke,” which describes how the game is suffering from pre-order refunds.

According to Vávra, the YouTuber behind this video, is a “grifter” and has revealed that the title’s pre-orders haven’t taken a dip as the ratio of sold and returned copies is still the same.

That’s not all, though; Vávra stated that the game’s preview hype has gone down, and the arrival of a number of discounted titles on Steam charts is the primary reason behind the drop. While gamers agree with Vávra’s reasoning behind the decline in pre-orders, many have hit back at him and believe that the game will be a failure.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen Vávra going out against such claims. A few days ago, he talked about multiple “wild claims” relating to the sequel’s criticism and stated that Warhorse has no intention of making Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 a clickbait. He relayed that it was disappointing to see such hateful comments floating around the title.

Despite the pointless “woke” controversies surrounding Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, there’s no denying the fact that it was one of the most anticipated titles of the year. If you’re someone who’s itching to play the game, you’ll be happy to know its release is right around the corner.

Warhorse Studios has already confirmed that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will be released on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. What’s great is that it won’t be leaving out any major platform; the game will be a day-one release for Xbox Series S/X, PS5, and PC.

It’s great to see that the game is releasing soon, as earlier it was revealed that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was pushed back to February 11. The delay was revealed in a trailer that went live during the 2024 Gamescom Opening Night Live show.
