A Vietnam veteran has been forced to spend the night in a hospital corridor while waiting for brain surgery, in yet another example of the dire state of WA’s over-stretched hospital system.

Malcolm Sweetman, 79, was put into a ward corridor at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital on Sunday afternoon, the night before an urgent operation to remove a golf ball-sized brain tumour.
