Man fighting for life after assault on street in Newtown, Sydney
A man is fighting for life after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of people along a busy road in Sydney’s inner west.Emergency services were called to Enmore Rd in Newtown about 11pm on Wednesday following reports of an assault.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said it appeared there had been a fight.
“Looks like there was a big punch-up between a group of blokes,” the spokesman said.

Police officers were told a 26-year-old was assaulted by a group of two or more people.
The man suffered head injuries and was treated by NSW ambulance paramedics before he was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
The NSW Ambulance spokesperson said the man had suffered “quite a serious” head injury.
A crime scene was established and an investigation was launched.
Anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
