Mark Rubin Won’t Be Happy as Recent XDefiant Nerf Seems to Have Made the Game’s Biggest Issue a Lot Worse

Last month, Ubisoft rolled out an update for its latest free-to-play first-person shooter game, XDefiant, that tried to tackle the problem of jump spamming. It’s very common for players in the game to spam jump/crouch buttons to take down enemies but in most cases, it only ruins the gaming experience for everyone else.

The community now believes that Ubisoft made it much worse by putting the spotlight on the annoying trick as more and more players are now trying this out in the game. Despite constant efforts from devs, the game’s fast-paced gameplay has forced many casual gamers to quit.

Did Ubisoft Highlight Jump Spamming With The Latest Nerf?

A post on the game’s subreddit claims that Ubisoft‘s recent patch that addressed the jump spamming issue in XDefiant has made things worse. The player claims that the update has highlighted the trick and now, many more players are using it.

In the patch, which was rolled out in June, the developer added aiming penalties for players who spammed jump/crouch buttons. This patch also added the much-awaited flinch for snipers.

Jump spamming doesn’t make a player better at a game, it’s only a way to abuse the game’s mechanics to churn out kills. The developer’s efforts to solve this issue backfired but hopefully, this problem will be eradicated soon.

It’s very common nowadays to see PvP games full of try-hards that spend hours a day playing the game. This ruins the experience for casual players who are playing the game just to enjoy it.

XDefiant is often compared to Call of Duty games but the pace difference between both is noticeable. The fast-paced gameplay of the shooter title can take a lot of time to get used to but many players aren’t interested in investing a lot of time in the game.

There have been a lot of complaints about the overall gameplay but some fans have also opposed them, stating that the developer is not to be blamed this time. A player recently highlighted that players who are criticizing the game need to understand that it’s a fast-paced game, unlike Call of Duty.

A lot of new content was added in the first season of the game but this is just the beginning as Ubisoft has big plans for the game. The game is available for free on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
