Marvel Rivals Forced to Announce Mass Bans as Closed Beta Suffers Invasion of Cheaters

Marvel Rivals, the online multiplayer shooter game from NetEase has been the talk of the shooter community ever since its announcement. The game lets players battle against their friends as iconic Marvel heroes and villains.

The game is currently in closed beta test and fans have been having fun. However, there are also issues and now cheaters are ruining the fun for many and developer NetEase has mass banned many cheating players.

NetEase Mass Bans Cheaters in Marvel Rivals

The closed beta test for Marvel Rivals began on 23rd July and ends today, August 8th and there are already hackers and cheaters. The developer, NetEase has revealed that it has banned around hundreds of such players.

The developer shared this on its official website and said that it takes the cheating issue very seriously. It added that it has detected and banned the accounts trying to exploit the game. It has banned 190 accounts during the closed beta test alone.

Since the launch of our CBT, we have made significant strides in detecting and banning cheaters. We have banned 190 accounts during the CBT.

In a quite interesting move, the developer has also revealed the names of the banned accounts, along with their game ID, date of ban, and the reason behind it. The reason for all the accounts banned is, shockingly, for the “use of third-party unauthorized software & malicious client hacking activities.”

It also urged the players to not use any cheat and hacks and not ruin the gaming experience for other players. The developer mentioned that it will keep “continue to enforce strict measures against cheaters” and asked the players to report “suspicious activities.”

The Beta Has Been Extended for Experimental Update

The closed beta has been a great success and seeing how fans loved the game, the developer has extended the beta and instead of the server shutting down at 3am ET/8am BST, it shut at 9am ET/2pm BST. This is for a experimental update to the game.

The update brings character changes, bug fixes, and performance improvements for players to try. This included adding DLSS Frame Generation in the settings interface and fixing the Crash issue causing slow-loading HDDs.

It also fixed the Hulk’s voice bug and Hulk getting hit by Spider-Man’s ‘Get Over Here!‘ when using Indestructible Guard. The update also fixed the abnormal loading issue that disrupted the login screen.

Marvel Rivals has impressed the fans so far and while there is no release window in sight yet, fans expect the game to be released sometime this year.
