Mills Middle School teacher dies after being found unresponsive on campus
PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – Officials with the Pulaski County Special School District announced the death of a Mills Middle School teacher Wednesday morning.
School district officials said ELA teacher Detriane Ireland was found unresponsive in a staff bathroom by the school’s security team. Officials said he was pronounced dead shortly after emergency responders arrived.

Ireland worked at Mills Middle School for the past three years, making this year his fourth year.

PCSSD officials said the counseling department has sent extra counselors to the school following the news. Counselors will be available to staff and students throughout the week, officials said.
“Mr. Ireland will be greatly missed by the staff and scholars at Mills Middle. Counselors will continue to be available for our staff and students this week at Mills Middle School,” PCSSD officials said. “Our thoughts and condolences go out to Mr. Ireland’s family and friends.”

Officials have not released the cause of Ireland’s death at this time. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.
