Missing California woman’s car found in Morro Bay as her search continues

The car of a missing San Joaquin Valley woman was found in Morro Bay on Wednesday.

Tiffany McClure, 49, was last seen in Tulare on Monday, according to the Missing People in America database.

Her car was found around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the the north end of Morro Bay, according to Morro Bay Police Officer Tony Mosqueda.

The Tulare Police Department tracked McClure’s car to Morro Bay using GPS and contacted local authorities at 1:28 p.m., Mosqueda said.

A white BMW matching the description of the car was discovered in the vicinity of the Morro Strand State Beach Campground shortly after. Mosqueda said that there was nothing suspicious about the vehicle and that it was found properly parked, locked and secured.

There was no sign of McClure when her vehicle was located.

Morro Bay police searched the area for multiple hours on foot and using a drone but did not find anyone matching McClure’s description, Mosqueda said.

Tulare police are investigating the case as a voluntary missing persons report.

McClure is described at 5 feet, 8 inches tall with blond hair and blue eyes. She was reported missing by her family, Mosqueda relayed on behalf of the Tulare Police Department.

Investigators have not found any indication of foul play thus far, but the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Tulare Detective Leonel Alvarez at 559-685-2300 ext. 2149 or the Morro Bay Police Department at 805-781-4550.
