MLB The Show 25 Cover Athletes and Release Date Revealed

Sony San Diego has announced the cover athletes and release date for MLB The Show 25.

Launching on March 18, MLB The Show 25 will feature a trio of young stars making their debuts on the game’s cover: Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz, and Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

MLB The Show 25 Features

While a full feature reveal of MLB The Show 25 is still yet to come, there are some early details about the game for players to get excited about. According to the game’s description on the PlayStation Store, MLB The Show 25 features updates to the game’s Road to the Show mode that sees you go from high school to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

“This lovingly crafted entry in the series comes complete with a comprehensive suite of gameplay and quality-of-life enhancements,” the description reads. “All this, designed from the ground up to get you to the action faster.”

This isn’t the only information fans have been given, however. Late last year, Sony San Diego gave a few teases regarding what to expect from this year’s game. Those include:

• Road To The Show: Deepen the player’s journey, before being drafted, and return control to how a player develops and grows in new and interesting ways.  
• Diamond Dynasty Alongside the retirement of Sets and Seasons, our fans can look forward to all-new elements of the Diamond Dynasty experience blended with what our fans love most about Diamond Dynasty.  
• Franchise: Improved trade evaluation metrics are coming along with a new fun and engaging offseason experience. 
• Gameplay: With the expansion of quick time events, defensive AI, and pathing updates, enjoy more engaging moment-to-moment gameplay.
