MoDOT closing interstate lanes, ramps in response to flash flooding
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The bombardment of rain from overnight into Tuesday afternoon has led to flash flooding across the St. Louis metro area, forcing the Missouri Department of Transportation to close lanes of interstates and ramps to traffic.
Late Tuesday morning, MoDOT closed the inside lane of eastbound and westbound Interstate 270 at North Florissant Road due to flooding. The closure is expected to continue through early Wednesday morning.

All eastbound I-70 ramps have been shut down in O’Fallon, Missouri, until further notice.
Drivers are advised to find alternate routes or, preferably, stay off the roadways until the rain lets up and floodwaters subside.
The St. Louis Fire Department is reporting flash flooding at eastbound I-64 and Hampton, and responding to drivers trapped inside their vehicles in standing water around the city.
