Mods Dropping a Day Before Release is Enough to Explain Hype Behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Mods tend to play a huge part in any game’s engagement with its community. However, who would have guessed it would someday help us judge just how excited fans are for a game, something that has been happening with the recent Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Released just a few hours ago, it would be anybody’s best guess that it would take at least a while before the first mod for the game makes its way onto the forums, as it would have been with any game. Weirdly, that’s not the case this time around.

It has officially just been a few hours at the time of writing this since Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was released and made available for download. But in a surprising turn of events, a mod or two have already made their way onto popular forums such as Nexusmods for the game.

Called the “Totally Unnecessary Reticle For Bows And Crossbows”, the mod, in reality, doesn’t do much but helps the player by giving them a small yellow dot in the middle of the screen that further helps in aiming better.

While the said customization to the game might not seem much, it remains astonishing how it made its way onto there before the game was even officially released. It could have been that the maker of the mod, who somehow got their hands on a copy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 early, might have felt a small yellow reticle in the middle of the screen was a necessity every other player was going to need as soon as they got their hand on the game.

Developed by Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver, the game is a continuation of the original 2018 title. It follows up on the story of Henry, a blacksmith’s son, in 15th-century Bohemia and covers the outcomes of a civil war that happened in the first game.

When the first Kingdom Come title came out in 2018, it was a hit among gamers, especially those who liked to put their own special twist on the game through modding.

The game eventually fostered a passionate modding community that we can already see is making the transition to the game’s successor excitedly. It’s also highly likely that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will include more built-in mod support soon.

For those who don’t yet know what the benefits of installing different mods to your game are, they essentially allow you to make cosmetic changes at large and help the game run faster and smoother on your computer by optimizing it better than before.
