Mortal Kombat 1 is the Latest Stage as Fan-Made Mod Sums Up the Drake Vs Kendrick Lamar Beef

Not Like Us is making all the way up on Billboard as it continues to outpace its competition as the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar escalates. It is likely that Lamar’s diss track will make it to the top, the only problem remains: which one? Writers of the popular American entertainment magazine have the same question.

The diss track aimed at the Canadian rapper also shattered one of the records on Spotify. The song dethroned Girls Wants Girls, which had the most hip-hop song streams in a single day. As of now, the track holds over 28 million views on video sharing platform YouTube.

The beef between the two rappers is well publicized at this point, but there’s seemingly always a new angle and a new reason behind another diss track. However, someone made the beef easy to understand, thanks to the gaming community. Now all it will take people is 18 seconds to get hold of what followed.

A video shared over social media platform X (formerly Twitter) sees both the singers taking on each other, but this time in one of the Mortal Kombat scenes. The creator put Lamar into the shoes of warrior Kung Lao, who then performed one of his fatalities on another character disguised as the Money in the Grave singer.

The video already has nearly five million views, and the numbers are still growing. A user called UDONTKNOWRI thought it did not capture the feud’s essence well, so he decided to share a similar clip in the comments.

Another user, dubbed Sheddy Yeager, believes the American rapper did more damage than the fatality highlights.

As of now, Lamar appears to be winning both professionally and personally. The Mortal Kombat fatality only adds more fuel to the fire.

The Franchise Has Seen Some Savory Game Mods in the Past

Some MK mods have brought skins that may never make it to the games in the future.

The Kendrick Lamar and Drake mod may well capture the eye, but there have been more interesting ones in the past. Someone even added Ed Boon as a character in Mortal Kombat 1 recently. However, he clarified that it wouldn’t be happening, despite suggestions being made to do that on multiple occasions.

Since Mortal Kombat has been an immensely popular game, it’s not a surprise that several modders tried their hands to add some innovation to it. The game has seen several collaborations, some of them being other video games, but one modder created a Mortal Kombat 11 version featuring characters like Kratos, Ezio, Lara Croft, and a wealth of iconic ones.

Mods can be fun and can possibly breathe life into even the most boring video games players have seen. And the trend continues as the latest games, including Helldivers 2 and Palworld, have seen their fair share of mods today.
