Mortal Kombat 1’s Universe Changing Details Continue As Many Consider 2 OP Characters Ruined
The next big DLC for Mortal Kombat 1, Khaos Reigns, has been announced and it is all set to bring six more characters and new story content. Out of the six characters, two characters are already in the game as Kameo fighters: Cyrax and Sektor.
These two cybernetic ninjas have been a part of the franchise for a long time now and players are extremely excited to play as them but in the latest DLC, NetherRealm Studios made some major changes to the characters and it’s safe to say that fans are not happy.
Mortal Kombat 1 DLC May Have Ruined Two Fan-Favorite Characters
It has been confirmed that Cyrax and Sektor will be added as playable characters in the Khaos Reigns DLC for Mortal Kombat 1. However, the versions of the characters featured in the DLC are completely different from the versions fans have seen in the franchise so far.
They took away all the depth and tragedy that came with the cyber initiative program and just made it….people in bodysuits… https://t.co/pYFUV0sqoZ

In case you’re not caught up with the lore: Cyrax and Sektor were two skilled assassins who were turned into Cyborgs under the Cyber Initiative program. Now, players are unhappy as it seems like these characters are wearing bodysuits instead of being actual cyborgs.
This change completely disregards the Cyber Initiative program, but this wasn’t the only major change since Cyrax and Sektor were originally male. These characters have been a part of Mortal Kombat 1 since day one as Kameo fighters.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Will Be Released On 24th September
It’s probably too early to form any opinions about the new characters as the Khaos Reigns DLC is still roughly 2 months away. Apart from Cyrax and Sektor. the DLC will also include Noob Saibot, Terminator T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Ghostface from Scream, and Conan the Barbarian.
Cyrax, Noob Saibot, and Sektor will be available when the DLC rolls out, the remaining fighters will be released subsequently.
At the San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that in the Year 2 of Mortal Kombat 1, fans will also get to see the return of Animalities, a finishing move introduced in Mortal Kombat 3.
The Khaos Reigns DLC costs $49.99 on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. The Nintendo Switch version costs $39.99. It has been confirmed that the Kombat Pack 2 will not be available as a stand-alone character bundle.
