Pascagoula, on the Gulf of Mexico, is home to Huntington Ingalls, one of the largest Navy shipyards in the nation.
The sprawling compound employs more than 7,000 shipbuilders who work day and night to build four classes of warships — including guided missile destroyers, which cost $2 billion a pop and are considered the workhorses of the Navy.
