Netflix releases trailers for animated Devil May Cry, Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider and Cyberpunk shows

Netflix has released new trailers for a number of upcoming animated series based on video games.

As part of its Geeked Week presentation, the streaming service showed trailers for its Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell and Devil May Cry shows, and also teased a new Cyberpunk show.

The first of these set to be released is Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which is coming to Netflix on October 10.

The game will be set after the events of the ‘survivor trilogy’, which consists of the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Also shown was a trailer for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, an animated series created by Netflix and Ubisoft Film & Television. Not much information has been shared on the show yet, which was simply described as “coming soon”.

A trailer for Devil May Cry was shown too. Based on Capcom‘s action adventure series, the show is led by Adi Shankar (who was showrunner on Netflix’s Castlevania series) and animated by Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra), and will premiere in April 2025.

Finally, a teaser trailer was shown for a new Cyberpunk series planned in collaboration with CD Projekt Red.

With little more than the message “return to Night City”, the teaser doesn’t reveal whether the show will be a second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or an entirely new show.

CD Projekt Red‘s Japan country manager Satoru Honma said in 2022 that there were no plans to continue the story of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which was co-developed by the game studio and Japanese animation firm Studio Trigger.

However, in October 2023 CD Projekt’s chief commercial officer Michał Nowakowski appeared to suggest it was working on another project with Studio Trigger.
