New Marvel Rivals Portal Strategy Checkmates The Punisher
In the world of Marvel Rivals, there are only a few characters who can boast proudly to be a menace for the whole player base, and one of them is none other than Doctor Strange, whose portal ability has been a pain to deal with since day one.
When the game first came out, players were quick to figure out just how overpowered Doctor Strange was with his unique kit of abilities inspired by his character. And while his portal is often used to just throw his enemies off the map, a new strategy now helps them to get rid of the enemy Punisher in particular.
New use case of Doctor Strange’s Portal in Marvel Rivals
As stated earlier, players who main Doctor Strange have been using their portals for anything except helping their team push the site early for once. Not only the ability is overpowered according to a few, but many call for Netease games to apply a nerf for the same in the future.
Till the time that happens, players have found a new way to utilize Doctor Strange’s portal. A user on Reddit has posted on the game’s official subreddit the new tech that somehow went unnoticed until now.
The video posted by the user reveals how Doctor Strange’s portal in the game can be used to get rid of Punisher while he is utilizing his sentry, which allows him great firepower but also holds him down in one place, allowing Stephen (Dr. Strange’s real name) to teleport him out of the map.
Marvel Rivals: A game of unconventional ultimates
Marvel Rivals as a game is pretty straightforward as it sticks to already existing characters and hands them a set of abilities that match their personality and out-of-the-game perception.
And while this includes the likes of Iron Man and his pretty simple ultimate that creates an energy ball and gets rid of all the players within a certain area, things take an interesting turn when it comes to characters like Loki or Jeff the Land Shark.
When it comes to Loki in the game, after finally charging up his ultimate to 100%, he can literally transform into any other character, also allowing him to make use of the transformed character’s ultimate for a limited time.
On the other hand, Jeff the Land Shark’s ultimate, which also happens to be one of the most hated options on the whole roster, allows him to swallow enemies and teammates alike and throw them off the map, disrupting the whole flow of the game at once if executed perfectly.
