News anchor Suzanne Spencer at WITI-TV (Channel 6) in Milwaukee is leaving TV
WITI-TV (Channel 6) reporter and morning news anchor Suzanne Spencer’s last day at the Milwaukee Fox affiliate is Friday, Aug. 2.
Spencer, who underwent successful surgery to remove a brain tumor three years ago, said on social media last week that she found herself “at a crossroads tugging between my life at work and as a mom.” Spencer’s “inner voice,” she said, had told her to return to her job last year following the birth of her daughter.
Channel 6 news anchor Suzanne Spencer, shown with her husband Paul in this 2022 photo, is leaving television to focus on her family.
“Now, it’s time to listen to another voice. And that’s my sweet little girl’s — being more present at home for her and our family,” Spencer wrote on Facebook. “I still have a few newscasts left but wanted to share my last day on air will be Friday August 2. I can’t wait to enjoy these last few days with you all and am looking forward to sharing this new beginning.”
Spencer, who grew up in Indiana, joined Channel 6 in 2017 as a reporter after working at WSBT-TV in South Bend. She was promoted to weekend evening news anchor in 2019, and was named co-anchor of the station’s “Fox 6 WakeUp” morning news in 2020.
