Nintendo Switch Sells Over 146 Million Units
Nintendo Switch has released its dedicated video game unit sales, and the Switch has managed to cross the 145 million mark.
According to the financial report, Nintendo Switch has now sold 146.04 million units of hardware and 1,306.10 million units of software. However, it’s not all good news for Nintendo. According to the report, hardware sales were down 31.0% (4.72 million), and software sales were down 27.6% (70.28 million) year-on-year.
In terms of other Nintendo Hardware, the Wii U has sold 13.56 million units, the Wii has sold 101.63 million units, the DS with 154.02 million, the Game Boy Advance has sold 81.51 million units, the Game Boy has sold 118.69 million units, the GameCube sold 21.74 million units, Nintendo 64 sold 32.93 million units, the SNES sold 49.10 million units and the NES sold 61.91 million units.
In terms of Nintendo Switch software sales, new games like Paper Mario Thousand-Year Door have sold 1.94 million units since May 2024, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD has sold 1.57 million units since June, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has sold 2.58 million units since September. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also sold 2.31 million units during this period, bringing the cumulative sales to 64.27 million units.
In other news, Nintendo says that the Switch 2 will still be announced before April 2025. Also, the online playtest program for the console was recently datamined.
