Northern California police seize 14 pounds of fentanyl, heroin, during traffic stop
(FOX40.COM) — A traffic stop in Northern California led to the discovery and seizure of several pounds of fentanyl and heroin.
On Jan. 31, the Modesto Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple alleged vehicle code violations. During the stop, a K-9 alerted an officer to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle, according to MPD. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered two pounds of heroin and 14 pounds of fentanyl pills.

The driver, identified as 49-year-old Jose Tafolla-Gutierrez of Modesto, was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for alleged narcotics trafficking and distribution.
“Our community is safer today thanks to the efforts of one of our dedicated K-9 Officers, who helped locate a significant quantity of illicit drugs intended for distribution within our community,” MPD said.
