Xbox has been very generous towards PlayStation with multiple exclusive releases on the platform. However, that trend isn’t stopping soon, as leaks suggest that the next Halo game will be released for PlayStation as well. According to sources, it’s possible that the reveal will happen this Friday, October 24, 2025.

Halo: Combat Evolved Remake Is Likely Going To Hit PlayStation Next

Several leaks are suggesting that Halo Studios is hard at work on releasing two Halo projects back-to-back. The one with the most leaks is Halo: Combat Evolved Remake, which is being developed on a hybrid Unreal Engine 5 and Blam. It’s easy to say that the game would likely focus on delivering high-quality visuals with this move.

However, visuals aren’t the only thing, as leaks suggest improved mission and add a sprint feature as well. Overall, Halo Studios’ approach with the upcoming title is similar to Oblivion Remastered, which also used UE5 for graphics rendering.

The question lies with multiplayer because the original Halo: Combat Evolved didn’t have online multiplayer. But it did support LAN gameplay. But again, it’s 2025, and it’s possible to add a multiplayer option for the remake version.

Now, whether multiplayer will be a part of it or not lies in doubt. The second Halo project is meant to be strictly multiplayer-focused. As it’s going to be a long-term live service title, maybe the multiplayer aspect will be kept for that.

Fans Are Skeptical About Having a Campaign-Only Halo Title

It’s expected that Halo: Combat Evolved Remake will be unveiled during their World Championship 2025 event. But, fans are concerned about it as many believe the multiplayer title and the campaign releases would be treated separately.

If the Halo: Combat Evolved Remake only arrives with campaign and no multiplayer, fans aren’t very positive about purchasing the game, despite being huge fans. The case can be put similarly to Activision releasing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, which didn’t have multiplayer.

So far, it’s claimed the remake will only feature a campaign mode, which isn’t sitting right so far. For that reason, fans aren’t very jolly about opening their wallets. Still, it’s best to remain patient because Halo Studios has plans to keep the multiplayer running with their standalone live service title.

That was everything we know about Halo: Combat Evolved Remake release coming to PlayStation. Do you think Halo Studios should consider providing a multiplayer mode for the supposed title? Share with us in the comments below.
