Results of presidential elections and referendum on EU integration in Moldova

Parliament strongly condemns any interference in Moldova’s presidential elections and constitutional referendum on EU integration, said President Metsola, adding that Parliament is proud to be one of Moldova’s strongest allies and supporters, and fully supports its EU accession path. President Maia Sandu and her government have made remarkable progress in implementing reforms, she said, and while the road ahead may not always be easy, the European Parliament will continue to be with them every step of the way.

Seven years since brutal assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia

16 October marked seven years since the brutal assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, a Maltese investigative journalist who exposed corruption and organised crime. Those who thought they could silence her were wrong, said President Metsola; “her work sparked a movement that echoes in every corner where we pursue a Europe that protects journalists and respects the rule of law”.

In keeping her memory alive, Parliament is hosting the award ceremony for the fourth edition of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for outstanding journalism on Wednesday to honour the bravery of all those who continue to carry her legacy forward.

Under Rule 251(4) of the EP Rules of Procedure, nine corrigenda will be deemed approved unless a request is made by a political group or Members reaching at least the low threshold for them to put to the vote. You can find the relevant list on the plenary website.
