OutRage: Fight Fest, ‘the world’s first 16-player beat ’em up’, is out on PC next month

OutRage: Fight Fest, the game claiming to be “the world’s first 16-player beat ’em up”, will be released on PC next month.

Set to be released on Steam Early Access on July 16, the game is the debut offering from UK studio Hardball Games, whose team previously worked on such titles as Split/Second, Pure and CSR Racing.

“Set in a reality parallel to our own, a rare serum is discovered that gives you temporary invulnerability and superhuman strength, paving the way for the craziest punch-up on the planet,” the game’s description reads.

“A mysterious eccentric billionaire will grant you entry to the fist-fighting showdown in exchange for the rights to harvest your Rage.”

The party game supports up to 16 players in Battle Royale, Free for All and Team Based modes, and features a variety of destructible levels and weapons to choose from.

As players cause damage to each other and the scenery, they’ll earn ‘Rage’. As their Rage builds they bulk up, allowing them to “hit harder and throw bigger”.

The Early Access version of the game will include a 16-player Knockout mode and a 4×4-player team mode called Domination, as well as two arenas – a dockyard and a construction site.

The game will be featured as part of Steam Next Fest, which starts on June 10. A demo is currently available on the game’s Steam page.
