PC Builders Who Just Bought High End GPUs Have Been Royally Screwed Over by Nvidia, AMD, Intel

We are in mid-November right now, near the end of 2024, and this might be the worst time for you to upgrade or purchase a new GPU since the market is not favorable for such a large purchase at the moment.

The GPU market is not at its best at the moment. Nvidia, Intel, and AMD’s plans have screwed over people who just upgraded or are planning to upgrade their systems with a more powerful graphics card.

You Should Wait Out A Couple More Months Before Buying A New GPU

There are a lot of new GPUs hitting the market in the first half of 2025. This is one of the major reasons you should not buy a high-end GPU right now. The GPU market is not as stable as it might appear to be. The prices are not that low but are expected to drop in a couple of months.

Nvidia is planning to launch the 50 series GPUs in January of next year, so if you are someone who has just bought one of the 40 series, you are royally screwed. There is going to be a significant upgrade in the 50 series GPUs following a huge price cut in the current generation machines. These are the biggest reasons why PC builders should wait out the year before even thinking of making a new purchase.

Zach’s Tech Turf shared a video on Instagram where he talks about why he feels this is the worst time to buy a new card. He said:

It’s currently mid-November, and it is arguably one of the worst times to buy a graphics card right now.

All the major companies are expected to launch new GPUs. Intel is expected to launch its new Battlemage GPUs in December, Nvidia is launching its RTX 50 series in January, and AMD is coming up with its all-new 8000 RX cards.

Whether you should upgrade your PC right now or not highly depends on the type of person you are. If you are someone who has a decent enough machine that is good enough to do most things and you still have been meaning to upgrade it for a while, you should wait it out.

If you are someone who is not bothered by upgraded components and the increasingly high prices attached to them, then you can go ahead and even buy or upgrade right now. However, if you feel the need to always be up to date with technological advancements, then it is highly recommended that you wait for the next generation of cards before making a hefty purchase.

There is usually a huge price cut after a new product is released in the market, and the same is expected to happen with the upcoming GPUs.
