PC Players Blast Valorant Change Enforced by the Console Launch
Despite Valorant‘s huge popularity around the globe, there are many complaints regarding the game. First up, the on-growing toxicity in the game, for which the whole environment has become unbearable.
Besides this, bugs and glitches are always there. There are disappointments regarding the in-game store as well. However, Riot has worked pretty well in the recent patch but might have changed an aspect that never needed one.
Fans Are Not Liking the New Agent Selection Screen on Valorant PC
Riot has recently launched Patch 9.02 in Valorant, where the game has brought about many changes, both on PC and on consoles. However, there is a change in the PC version of the game, which is absolutely not taken well by the fans.
Select the agent without knowing which one your team is choosing?
This doesn’t make sense, it’s impossible to run a screen without seeing which people AND NICKS of your allies before starting the match— Lu (@oManiinho) July 30, 2024
This new change is in the agent selection screen. This screen comes right after finding a match. Previously, all the agents were shown in a horizontal line format. Now, all the players are shown in a vertical line format. The good thing is that you now have the option to select agents based on their roles, like Duelists, Controllers, Initiators, and Sentinels, as they can be grouped now.
However, the major problem is that you cannot see which agents your teammates are picking. When you are playing with your friends, it might not be an issue as you will be connected through the comms. But when you are playing with randoms, then it might pose a huge problem as you won’t know which agents they are picking if they are not using the comms.
In the previous version of the screen, even if your teammates were inactive on the communications, you could still see what agents they were picking. For example, if you are playing with randoms and two of your teammates pick duelists and the rest two pick a sentinel and an initiator, then you have to go for a controller. But right now, you don’t have that luxury anymore.
What Are the Other Changes in Patch 9.02?
Patch 9.02 has come as a lifesaver for both the console and PC players. From slamming the toxic players to fixing weird bugs, this patch has done it all. Here is a highlight of all the changes and some new features in this patch:
- Players who engage in toxic behavior over the comms will face increased penalties from now on.
- The surrender/remake feature is back, as the glitch that caused losing the inputs has been fixed.
- The Basic Training tutorial and The Range, which were available on console, are now available on PC as well.
- There’s a new update in the console where certain abilities can be toggled, for example, Harbor’s High Tide and Phoenix’s Fire Wall.
- In Abyss, there were some spots where the spike could get stuck on certain ledges outside the map. This issue is resolved as well.
However, despite all these good aspects, fans are disappointed over the new agent selection screen.
