Perth International Jazz Festival breaks out Esperanza Spalding, Horns of Leroy, Paul Grabowsky, Holli Scott

Perth International Jazz Festival breaks out this week in a hot bill of top-line tourists, first-time visitors, WA regulars, a bumper opening night party and a double album launch at the weekend.

The velvet bass and voice of Esperanza Spalding set the main program rolling at The Regal Theatre on October 24, combining her soul-funk-pop fusion with stripped-back support from Eric Doob on drums and Matt Stevens on guitar. Dancers Kaylin Horgan and Tashae Udo also feature in US-based Spalding’s first-ever Perth gig.
