Pokémon TCG Pocket gets a Lapras ex Drop Event with five new cards

Pokémon TCG Pocket has received its first post-launch battle event.

The Lapras ex Drop Event consists of four solo battles against increasingly difficult opponent decks.

By winning the battles, players can earn First Time Battle Rewards including XP, Shop Tickets, Shinedust and Pack Hourglasses, and by repeating battles they can earn Chance drop rewards including Shinedust and Shop Tickets.

Most importantly, these Chance Rewards can also come in the form of Promo Packs, which include one of five new promo cards for this event:

  • Butterfree (13 / P-A)
  • Lapras ex (14 / P-A)
  • Pikachu (15 / P-A)
  • Clefairy (16 / P-A)
  • Mankey (17 / P-A)

Players can continue to replay the same battles in an attempt to keep getting Promo Packs as Chance Rewards, but they do have special event stamina, which refreshes to give a new battle every 12 hours (or can be topped up with Event Hourglasses).

The event can be found by going to the Battle tab and choosing the Solo option.

The event will last until November 18 at 2am ET / 6am GMT, meaning players have roughly two weeks to try to get all five promo cards.

Earlier this week it was reported that Pokémon TCG Pocket game has enjoyed a strong launch, with estimates from mobile market research firm AppMagic suggest the game made around $3 million per day on its debut weekend.

It was claimed the game made $12.1 million in its first four days, and is currently earning more revenue than Pokémon Go, which it’s estimated makes around $1 million per day.
