Problem With Monster Hunter Wilds Doesn’t Just Stop at How Bad It is in Low Graphics Settings

Monster Hunter Wilds is knocking at the door. This action RPG title is developed and published by Capcom, which serves as a successor to Monster Hunter: World (2018). In order to find a missing expedition party, players assume control of a custom Hunter character who journeys to the “Forbidden Lands,” an uninhabited landmass teeming with monsters.

This game was supposed to carry forward the legacy of the Monster Hunter franchise. However, things never went down the path they were supposed to. Because the open beta phase of the game is going through a pretty rough patch.

Monster Hunter Wilds Is Running Horribly Even at Low Settings

Monster Hunter Wilds is performing very badly on PC. The game is right now in the open beta phase. Forget about high and ultra settings; the game is running horribly even at the lowest possible settings. Over on the Monster Hunter subreddit, almost all of the most popular recent posts are about the game’s performance and graphical glitches on PC, with a lot of players running into the same issues. Similarly, a dissatisfied fan has vented out his frustration.

Game can barely run on a 3060ti, how is this acceptable?

As per the fan, the game is currently unable to reach even 60 FPS on the lowest possible settings with DLSS on ultra performance. It’s truly unacceptable, keeping in mind the current generation of video games, as 60 FPS is the bare minimum.

Not only the framerate, but the game even looks “disgustingly grainy” and “blurry.” The fan thought this might have happened due to turning the game to the lowest possible graphics settings, but when he went on to increase the graphical settings to max, irrespective of the framerate, the visual qualities and textures were still “horrifyingly” grainy.

This fan also stated that this game can only run a 3060TI worth more than $500. His GPU is good enough to run any other game of this modern generation with ease, at least above 60 FPS. Monster Hunter is one of the favorite franchises of this fan. But he is not going to spend $800 on upgrading his system just to play this game. It seems the PS5 Pro itself is releasing so that it can run Monster Hunter Wilds.

Monster Hunter Wilds Starts with a Bang

The poor performance of Monster Hunter Wilds didn’t stop it from becoming one of the most-played games on Steam right now. The game entered the beta phase on October 31 morning, and since then over 463k players have been playing the game at some point in the last 24 hours.

Only Counter-Strike 2, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and Dota 2 are more popular on Steam than the Monster Hunter Wilds beta as of this morning. It has been able to overtake GTA 5, Call of Duty, Naraka: Bladepoint, and even Banana, that strange game that has had a lot of players for months even though it is only about clicking bananas.

In any case, clicking a banana is not as popular as Monster Hunter Wilds. Given that there are currently 424k players as of this writing, that number is probably only going to increase over the weekend. Will Dota 2 be overthrown by the Monster Hunter Wilds? Let’s see!

Technically, the Monster Hunter Wilds beta has been available on the PS5 since October 28 through a two-day early access period that is only available to PS Plus members. However, on October 31 at 8 am PT, it was made available on PC, Xbox, and other PlayStation devices.

It ends at 7 p.m. PT on November 3. A complete hunt for the monster Doshaguma, some story content, and the character creator with the ability to transfer characters to the full game are all included in the beta.
