Professional scuba diver aids in the recovery of old refrigerator in Green Bay’s Pamperin Park

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A professional scuba diver provided his services and aid to the Brown County Sheriff’s Dive Team on Tuesday as they recovered a multitude of objects from Pamperin Park.

Ed Bieber, known as “Ed the Diver” was in town to help remove debris from a flood quarry. The team was able to recover not only some trash, but they found an old refrigerator and a safe from the bottom of the dive spot.

The team used floatation devices and a crane to remove them from the water.

“In this quarry here, we were here last year, it was about 18 feet deep,” Ed the Diver said. “The stuff is usually around the edge, and we had to go down there, strap it up and put some air lift bags on it to slowly lift them.”

Ed the Diver’s website is available here, with information about his underwater recovery work.
