Quidditch Champions Gameplay Disappoints Everyone as We’re All Wondering Why It Wasn’t Hogwarts Legacy DLC

Just a month away from its release, Unbroken Studios has dropped the first gameplay reveal of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. Though we only saw limited things, it was enough to dismay fans who weren’t impressed.

What’s funny is that the disappointment doesn’t even come from the game itself but from Hogwarts Legacy, which failed to add a Quidditch mode despite claiming to be the best and biggest Harry Potter game ever.

When a Quidditch game was announced back in April of 2023, everyone was left dumbfounded. This is because just two months ago, the biggest game in the franchise’s history, Hogwarts Legacy, was released and didn’t feature a Quidditch mode.

Given that the game featured just about everything related to the main series, it was surprising that it didn’t feature Quidditch. Furthermore, both the games have been published by Warner Bros. Games, which begs the question: couldn’t a DLC be just released with Quidditch in it?

No doubt, everyone has been wondering the same. This has also put the upcoming game in the crossfire, as fans have been putting down the game by just looking at the trailer.

It took netizens no time to express their views on social media, stating the game should have been part of a DLC instead.

More importantly, netizens have voiced that Quidditch should not have been a standalone game to begin with.

Regardless of the reason for releasing a standalone game, it’s vital that it doesn’t come off as a cash grab but as a genuine title that offers something unique. Furthermore, how big the franchise’s fandom is, it is sure to gain decent traction, at least in the beginning.

There will be a single career mode in the game where players get to compete in different championships scattered throughout the world. There is also going to be a ranked mode where players can challenge other players.

Interestingly, you will be able to play using various characters from the Potter universe or create your own character. The game is priced at $30, but there is also a deluxe edition worth $40, which comes with skins and other cosmetics.

What do you think about the game? Do you belive it should’ve been a DLC instead? Let us know in the comments below.
