Radical Forge undergoes “minor restructuring”

Sea of Thieves co-developer and developer behind the upcoming “chaotic farming game,” Southfield, Radical Forge, is undergoing some “minior restructuring,” leading to six staffers out of a job. Its existing projects are supposedly not affected.

Reported by GamesIndustry.biz, a spokesperson told the outlet that the affected staffers’ skills were “no longer needed on current or upcoming projects.” Since the report, Radical Forge has taken to Twitter to address the layoffs, admitting that some restructuring was happening and that a handful of staff saw their contracts end ahead of their proper end date.

While the studio has made a name for itself in the co-development space, working with studios like Rare on Sea of Thieves, Rebellion Developments on Zombie Army 4, and Boneloaf on Gang Beasts, it has started working on new IPs. Bright Paw was its first back in 2020, and it’s currently working on Southfield, which has the financial backing of Take-Two Interactive’s Private Division.
