Real Reason First Look at Zombie and Skeleton Will Make Your Blood Boil

In September, Warner Bros. Pictures released the first trailer for its upcoming movie, A Minecraft Movie. This movie, based on the beloved Minecraft franchise, is all set to feature some well-known Hollywood stars like Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, and Danielle Brooks. Unfortunately, the initial response to the trailer wasn’t exactly good as fans found the entire concept quite embarrassing.

Recently, images of Zombie and Skeleton in the movie were revealed in a video released on the official Minecraft YouTube channel. It appears that these mobs will be animated, unlike the main cast of the movie. It doesn’t make sense as creators clearly made these Zombie and Skeleton models hoping to create a realistic Minecraft movie, but the main cast is just real humans in odd outfits.

The First Look Zombie And Skeleton In A Minecraft Movie Proves What’s Wrong With it

Most gamers around the world have criticized Warner Bros. Pictures’ live-action adaptation of Minecraft mainly because it all seems like an “If real people ended up in a video game” situation. CGI isn’t the best and most actors look nothing like the characters they’re playing. The first look at Zombie and Skeleton was revealed in an official YouTube video recently. The creators’ attempt at making realistic mobs proves that live-action was never the right approach for this project.

Hardcore fans have been indeed waiting for a Minecraft movie but no one wanted it to be a mix of live-action and animation. The mob models are certainly unique and if the same approach was picked for the main characters, things might’ve turned out differently, in a better way.

It’s no secret that live-action adaptations of video games are trending nowadays and if Warner Bros. Pictures turns this into a cash grab, gamers all over the world will not forgive them for butchering a franchise like Minecraft. The fans were so disappointed with the trailer that they asked Warner Bros. to use the film’s $200 million budget to fund other studios.

A Minecraft Movie Is Doomed By Jason Momoa’s Controversy

Jason Momoa, who is all set to play Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison in A Minecraft Movie, has been accused of displaying toxic behavior toward his crew on the set of the movie. The allegations come from YouTuber Rachell Marie Hofstetter, a.k.a Valkyrae, who claims that she is making an appearance in the movie. During her appearance on JasonTheWeen’s stream on Twitch, she was asked to talk about her worst celebrity or streamer experience.

Valkyrae named Jason Momoa, adding that she has a cameo in A Minecraft Movie. She claimed (via PageSix) that Momoa mistreated some of the crew after “a very intense scene” but admitted that “maybe he was still in character.” She explained that the Fast X star was “yelling” at the crew because they weren’t “doing something right, like setting up the shot and stuff.” With A Minecraft Movie already getting so much hate, Momoa’s alleged behavior could further destroy its reputation.

A Minecraft Movie is scheduled to be theatrically released on April 4, 2025.
