Redfall: Bite Back Edition refunds are being issued

The $100+ investment players put into Redfall for its Bite Back Edition are getting refunds following the closure of Arkane Austin. Some are even getting refunds for physical copies.

Windows Central reports that users are getting full refunds, these refunds are being issued in batches based on the report. Additionally, users on the subreddit are also mentioning their success of getting refunds. Part of the Bite Back Edition’s allure was the number of new heroes that would release post-launch at no charge for those with the edition. Many were waiting until the announcement of the studio’s closure, which also stagnated an immersive sim that was in the pitching stages.

While the game failed to commercially succeed thanks to lackluster sales, poor reception, and downright bad support, Arkane Austin did push out a final update. The update made the game playable offline and improved some of the disastrous things from launch, making us kind of wish the game was able to continue operation, but we’re sure it would just stagnant again.

Billed as Microsoft’s first $70 game, it was unfortunate when Redfall actually released, with its Xbox Series X|S version capped at 30fps for six or so months, littered with boring gameplay, and generally just a lacking experience to warrant the price tag. Unlike Tango Gameworks, which succeeded in basically every measure with a sequel to Hi-Fi Rush supposedly in the pipeline , Arkane’s track record was spotty at best, but at least it pushed that final update.
