Redfall is getting an offline mode after all

The sudden closure of three studios under the Bethesda umbrella hit people hard, especially Tango Gameworks, but also Arkane Austin. While the studio’s last two games fumbled, Redfall was meant to have a good year. Seems like, though, there is one final push before the studio is entirely dead.

On X, Redfall’s official account announced one last major update, akin to something like Tango’s final update for Hi-Fi Rush. This new update is poised to include a revamped Neighborhood and Nest systems, offline play, and single-player pausing. As we all know, the studio was working on improving Redfall and the promised new heroes for the Bite Back Edition owners, who have been waiting years for any new update. While it does there’s more than just what’s mentioned, we have doubts this means the promised heroes are going to be part of that.

Redfall is among the most high-profile failures for Xbox, made only worse by it being its debuting $70 game, souring the price tag even further for those unhappy with the change. Even so, though, some people do see value in it and initially, it was just gonna remain online for however long Microsoft feels is acceptable, which let’s face it was probably only going to be for a year or two past the studio’s closure.

We hope Redfall’s newest update will make the game more viable as a single-player experience at least worth a shot.
