Reported felon arrested with firearm, says it’s for “shooting turtles”

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – An Oklahoma City man was arrested last week for having a firearm and over 200 rounds of ammunition along with allegedly having several pieces of stolen equipment totaling $250,000.

Anas Milbes told KFOR he owns the property at 8701 North Kelley and that he would pay back the equipment.

But it started on July 4th when police records showed that Milbes was pulled over near West Wilshire Blvd. and Broadway Extension for multiple traffic violations.

An officer found Milbes had a camouflage Mossy Oak .22 caliber rifle with a Weaver Scope, along with 207 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition.

When officers allegedly asked why he had the rifle he said it was because they used it to shoot turtles.

Records show that Milbes told police he was a convicted felon and should not be allowed firearms.

Then on July 26th records stated that officers were called to 8701 North Kelley Ave. about stolen construction equipment found by a representative of Sunbelt Rentals.

Court records show that the property belongs to Milbes.

Sunbelt Rentals reportedly told officers that they believed some of the equipment had been sold on Facebook Marketplace.

While on the property, officers found several heavy machinery that were allegedly stolen.

The search warrant stated that seven items were found by officers and returned to Sunbelt Rentals totaling over $250,000.

On Tuesday Milbes was arrested on several charges including receiving, possessing, or concealing stolen property.
