Rockstar’s Dan Houser Had to Stop CJ Actor Christopher Bellard from ‘F**king up’ GTA 4’s Niko Bellic Actor in Real Life Beef
GTA San Andreas’ most iconic character, CJ’s voice actor Christopher Bellard, took it upon himself to take revenge on GTA 4’s Niko Bellic actor for talking about Rockstar in a negative light.
Dan Houser managed to stabilize the situation by talking Christopher Bellard out of taking any actions against him. Bellard was extremely offended on behalf of Rockstar, which led him to threaten Micheal Hollick, the voice actor of GTA 4‘s Nico Bellic.
All Thanks To Dan Houser The Beef Did Not Reach The Streets
GTA 4’s Niko Bellic actor was upset about not getting fair payment for his role in the game, a problem that even Bellard became vocal about later. Nico Bellic, played by Michael Hollick, was quite vocal about Rockstar in a negative way back in the day, which infuriated Bellard since he was still on good terms with the developers back then.
The only reason he was angry with Hollick was because he was offended at his remarks against Rockstar since he had a lot of love for it at that time. Bellard expressed his desire to ‘f*ck him up’ to Dan Houser, who managed to control the situation, and the feud between the two failed to escalate further.
In an Instagram live video, Bellard quoted Houser:
No no, no need for nothing like that.
Back in 2008, Hollick shared his side of the story and opened up about what he felt was unfair to actors. He said:
But it’s tough when you see Grand Theft Auto IV out there as the biggest thing going right now, when they’re making hundreds of millions of dollars, and we don’t see any of it.
More than Rockstar, he blamed the union for not indulging in any of these discussions and standing up against the discrimination faced by new actors in the industry.
This is largely why neither of the two ever returned to star in any other GTA title. Both of them eventually cut ties with Rockstar amidst concerns regarding low payouts and less recognition.
Bellard is an outspoken person; he is quite vocal about his feelings and talks with a lot of passion. One can say that he truly is a real-life CJ since he quite literally embodied the character.
The Feud Between The Two Seems To Have Settled Now
Bellard was as vocal about his negative relationship with Rockstar as he was about his feud with Hollick. He is not the only one who feels the studio has done the actors wrong.
Major points of criticism against the studio revolve around compensation and recognition. Bellard and Hollick have made it very clear that they will not be returning to any of the future games. Their journey with Rockstar has come to an end for good now.
It seems like Bellard got angry with the studio for the very same reason he took its side. He came to realize that the criticism voiced by Hollick was true and not just a baseless accusation. He realized how frustrating it is to give your 100 percent to your craft and fail to get paid enough money or get the recognition you deserve. What do you think about it?
