Salty Fans Demean Sony Exclusives After PS5 Snags Unexpected Xbox Title Out of the Blue

It’s fair to say that Sony has completely dominated the ninth-generation console war with its PlayStation 5. Seriously, it has outsold the competition by big numbers and has all the exclusives titles gamers would ever want.

In recent months, Sony has been getting more and more Xbox games on its platform thanks to Microsoft’s multi-platform strategy. The Japanese company has also bagged the crown jewel of Xbox, Forza Horizon 5. While gamers are happy to see the racing game is coming to PS5, some in the community are still salty.

Xbox fans hate Forza Horizon 5′s PlayStation 5 port

Recently, Playground Games confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 will soon be coming to PS5. The game will be identical to the Xbox and PC versions, which means more than 900 cars, an open-world Mexico to explore, and two expansions will be offered to PlayStation players.

It’s great to see that another Xbox exclusive is making the jump to rival consoles. However, one player has hit back against this port announcement by stating that Sony finally has a “good” Horizon game, taking a jab at Horizon Zero Dawn.

It’s not surprising that some gamers, particularly Xbox fans, are mad about Microsoft’s decision to port the game. Forza has been a key Xbox exclusive for decades, alongside other franchises such as Gears of War and Halo. At no point could anyone in their wildest dreams have seen the game coming to Sony consoles.

It’s sad to see that some in the community are targeting PlayStation instead of appreciating the fact that Forza Horizon 5 coming on the console means we’re all one step closer to ending console wars. As Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer states, gamers shouldn’t be restricted by their consoles to experience the best of the gaming industry.

When is Forza Horizon 5 coming to PS5?

According to Playground Games, Forza Horizon 5 will be coming to PS5 in Spring 2025. Unfortunately, the developer still hasn’t said anything about a specific release date or the pricing information.

It’s possible that the game will use the incredible capabilities of the PS5, such as the DualSense controller, in a similar manner to other racing games on the console.

When the game arrives on the Sony console, it will also feature cross-play support. Thanks to this feature, gamers who have access to Forza Horizon 5 will be able to play the game with their friends on PS5 just like they can already play with their friends on PC.

Playground Games has also confirmed that it’s working on a brand-new content update for the game dubbed Horizon Realms. This update is supposed to bring a collection of the most popular Evolving Words content and other surprises.
