For the uninitiated, Connections is an online word game by NYT that provides the player with 16 different words, which may not seem like they are connected to one another at first glance, but they have more in common than one might think.

The objective is to divide the words into groups of four, with each group focusing on a specific theme. In case you are having a hard time with today’s Connections puzzle, we have prepared some hints to help you out for Saturday, October 12.

Of course, we have also revealed all of the answers for today’s Connections puzzle at the end, so if the hints are not helping either, you can simply just head down to the solutions and save yourself some headache to prepare for tomorrow’s challenge.

Some Connections puzzles can be quite tough to solve, so if the hints above have not really made things clear, today’s word groups should help simplify them even further:

  • Draped Accessories
  • Tolerate
  • Bird Onomatopoeia
  • Starts of Cell Phone Makers

New York Times Connections Answers Today for October 12

If you have tried your best and still not succeeded, there is not any need to worry, as we have listed down the answers below to make today’s Connections puzzle a breeze to solve:

  • Draped Accessories: Scarf, Shawl, Stole, Wrap
  • Tolerate: Bear, Stand, Swallow, Take
  • Bird Onomatopoeia: Coo, Gobble, Honk, Hoot
  • Starts of Cell Phone Makers: App, Goo, Motor, Sam

Although three of the entries in the first group are easy enough to relate with one another, the word Stole may have been jarring because its usage as a verb is usually what comes to mind. The similarities between Swallow and Gobble could have also thrown many players off, as they seem like terms related to the process of eating, so them belonging to different groups was unexpected.

After finding out the answers, the incomplete words are clearly Apple, Google, Motorola, and Samsung, but before figuring out the solution, they all just look like random terms, making it extremely hard to fit them in a similar context.

But that is what makes Connections such a fun game to play, as every day brings a new challenge for dedicated players to complete, so if you were not able to solve today’s puzzle, there is always tomorrow.

And if that gives you trouble as well, rest assured that we will have yet another guide waiting for you. However, if you did achieve success with today’s Connections puzzle, many congratulations!
