Sonic the Hedgehog 4 eyes early 2027 release window

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was a given, considering the success of basically all three of the previous films, with its most recent becoming the IP’s highest-grossing entry. Of note, though, we have a small wait.

As reported by Variety, this fourquel is eyeing an early 2027 release. Now, considering how early we know this timeline, it’s possible that the film will hit some sort of snag along the way as it marches through the next two years.

Paramount’s existing trilogy made its debut back in 2020 with Ben Schwartz bringing the iconic Blue Blur to life, meanwhile the likes of Jim Carrey dons the role of the nefarious Dr. Robotnik, Idris Elba as Knuckles, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and the most recent flick introducing none other than Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog.

While obviously casting and such for any new roles remains uncertain — it’s way too early for that to be underway — we can assume that Jeff Fowler will continue his stint as director.

Supposedly, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will release in March 2027.
