They point out two main reasons for their concern. First, the trailers showcasing Chaos Marines tie each class to a specific traitor legion without showing any class variation within those legions.

Plus, there’s no visible variation in armor or color for these marines, which is a red flag for OP.

Then, there’s the leaked gameplay. The game’s customization menu is set in a loyalist battle barge hub. This could mean that only loyalist marines might be customizable.

The leak also mentions that traitor legions can apply pre-heresy colors and emblems to their loyalist marine, but there is no mention of full Chaos Space Marine customization. OP fears that the traitor legions might be locked to certain classes.

One player, after having played the leaked dev build, says that heretics might not even be locked to classes. They’re able to apply Death Guard colors to every class, which is a positive sign.

That being said, things can change. Until the developers say more or the game releases, it’s hard to speculate on the extent to which Chaos customization exists.
