Space Marine 2 Won Because It Gave a Chance to 1 Frowned Upon Gameplay Tactic Helldivers 2 Abandoned

Helldivers 2 is one of the most popular games right now. Its stunning visuals, exciting co-op gameplay, and captivating Major Orders have garnered a huge fanbase. However, the game has been facing some issues regarding bugs and glitches and a controversy regarding linking the PSN account.

This third-person shooter’s closest rival has to be the recently launched Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. Both these titles are plotted in an intergalactic setting. But there is one aspect that the Focus Entertainment title has but not the Arrowhead Game Studios title.

There Isn’t Much Opportunity for Sniper Plays in Helldivers 2, Unlike Space Marine 2

Sniper is an essential part of any shooting title. It gives immense satisfaction when the bullet from your bolt-action rifle pierces through the helmet and skull of your enemy. However, Helldivers 2 doesn’t have that luxury. Although, in Space Marine 2, there are satisfactory amounts of sniper plays. Now, what is the reason for the co-op multiplayer shooter lacking this important aspect?

I wish there was more opportunity for sniper plays.

It’s not like the game doesn’t feature sniper rifles, but to execute ideal sniper plays, you need to set up the enemy, switch different angles, and scope the threats. But in this game, there’s not much time window to pull off these steps. For example, if an enemy is rushing towards you, you have to eventually switch from your long-range weapons to mid or close-range guns.

On the other hand, in Space Marine 2, you get ample opportunities for sniper plays as the gameplay is built like that, and also the game features a whole sniper class based on long-range tactics. So, with the current gameplay, it’s impossible to have feasible and typical sniper plays in Helldivers 2, unless Arrowhead Game Studios wants to make a change in it.

Difference Between Space-Marine 2 and Helldivers 2

Despite being set on the intergalactic battlefield, both games have substantial differences. Helldivers 2 is a live-service title that features only multiplayer co-op game modes. Major words are given by the Super Earth after a certain time period, which players have to complete.

On the other hand, Space Marine 2 is a story-driven single-player game based on the highly popular Warhammer 40K franchise. Along with a single-player campaign, the game features PvP and PvE modes as well.

Talking about other differences, Space Marine 2 features several progression systems and customization options that give players incentives to keep alive the spark in repetitive gameplay loops. However, as a live-service title, Helldivers 2 doesn’t need it.

What Helldivers 2 needs is the implementation of proper sniper plays in the game, like buffing the bolt-action rifles or reducing screen shakes due to explosions. The best bet is to add a dedicated sniper mode to replenish the desire of millions of fans.
