Space Marine 2’s First Update, But Fortunately Promises To Bring Much-Requested Features Later in September

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has been bursting on the scene just a few days after its release. This third-person hack-n-slash shooter by Saber Interactive has been released on September 9, 2024, on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

However, just like any other game, this one has also been facing some issues from the day of its launch, like sudden crashes, several bugs, and many more. Now, Saber is quick to fix all of those as they bring in the Hotfix 2.1, with a promised bigger patch for later in September.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 – Hotfix 2.1

Hotfix 2.1 is the first proper patch update for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, which was released on September 11, 2024, for both PC and console. This patch is relatively small and is brought on to fix nominal issues. Here are the patchnotes:

Crashes and bug fixes

• Fixed some rare possible crashes when starting the game
• Fixed a rare possible crash that occurred during the first cutscene
• Fixed several other rare crashes
• Fixed several rare bugs that were causing soft locks in the story mode

PC Only

• Optimized CPU behavior on high-end CPUs

This recently launched title has been facing some crash issues, mostly during the launching of the game or during the first cutscene. Also during battles, several crashes were reported. Not only that, there were some rare bugs that were hampering soft locks in the story mode.

The Hotfix 2.1 might not come with some unique content and features, but this patch at least relieved the fans from those headaches. Also, this patch update has optimized the CPU behavior specifically on high-end CPUs.

The Game Is Set for a Bigger Patch Update Later in September

Along with the patch note, the developers of Saber Interactive have assured us that later on in September, a bigger patch update is coming. Unlike Hotfix 2.1, the upcoming patch will not only be about minor bugs and crash fixes. The upcoming patch will bring some unique features. These are the features that are coming with the upcoming patch:

• Ultrawide support
• Private PvE lobbies
• Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge

Space Marine 2 has already won everyone’s hearts with its captivating gameplay, striking visuals, and unique storyline. Now, when all of these are added to the ultrawide support, then the gameplay experience is going to reach a whole new level for sure.

Also, as of now, the game features multiple co-op PvP and PvE modes of play. But the new patch will also feature private PvE lobbies, which will make it more fun to play the game. Along with this patch, fans are awaiting a new DLC as well, featuring the first-ever female Adeptus Custodes in the franchise.

With the banger of a start Space Marine 2 is having, these patches look like just the beginning of the story. We hope the company brings more exciting aspects to the game for us to enjoy.
