Splitgate 2 Looks to Build on Everything the First Did, and in Style
Splitgate, the free to play multiplayer arena shooter from 1047 Games really impressed players when it first launched on in 2019. The developer recently announced that the game isn’t dead and revealed the first trailer for the sequel.
The upcoming title, Splitgate 2 is set to launch in 2025 and will feature several upgrades. The developer had said that it has rebuilt the game from ground up, with learnings from the first title and the latest gameplay reveal proves it.
1047 Games Reveals Splitgate 2 Gameplay for the First Time
Splitgate 2 uses the same portal mechanic that was in the first game, which made it stand out from the other shooter titles. The developer had already hinted that the sequel will have some elements from the first game.
But also that it will feel and look completely new and better and it does that in style. The developer has now revealed gameplay of the upcoming arena shooter ahead of the first Alpha that is scheduled later this month.
The trailer showcases how the combat will work in the game and has also revealed the three factions that will be debuting in the game upon launch. The nearly 5-minutes trailer features some Splitgate streamers playing the game.

The players called the game “a fresh outlook on good fun arena shooter” as well as “action-packed and fast-paced.” The players also got extended look at the combat with playing sliding and jumping around, killing opponents.
The trailer also showcases weapon pickups available across the map as well as power weapons. There is a variety in matches with new abilities and utility powers that make the game more fun that the first title.
The Three Factions Debut With Unique Skills and Powers
There are three factions that were revealed with the gameplay trailer and these are basically classes of characters with different skills. These factions are Aeros, described as fast, agile, and portal masters; Meridian faction is decribed as healers and spotters and Sabrask as defenders and fraggers.
The characters in Aeros faction is for players who like fast-paced gameplay as the faction has Rush ability featuring increased agility, quick reloads and faster sprinting across maps. The Meridian is basically a support class, healing themselves and other players, also assisting them by spotting opponents.
The third and last, Sabrask faction is focused on defending and is recommended for players new to portal gameplay. It has the ability to perfectly throw grenades and are very good at playing offensive, doinating a area. It is said to be the strongest faction in the game.
This reveal has peaked the fans’ interest and they are excitedly looking forward to the game’s launch. Although there is no launch date yet, the developer have confirmed the game to come out this year and that’s good news.
