Starfield: How to Craft Stimulants

The universe of Starfield is filled with unique flora that yield special resources. A Stimulant is one such resource that can be hard to find, but is useful for creating a very powerful drug. Naturally, in your journey, you will need to collect Stimulants, whether through buying or crafting.

Like many resources in the game, Stimulants can be crafted, and this will usually be your primary method of gathering it. However, crafting the resource can be complicated as it requires you to travel to specific planets.

How to Craft Stimulants in Starfield?

Crafting Stimulants requires just Water.

To craft Stimulants in Starfield, head to Beta Ternion 1 or 2. Here, look for specific plants called Cliff Laurel or Bristle Barrel. Usually, you will find them in the mountain region of the planet. Once you find the plant, scan it 100% to make it eligible for outpost production.

After scanning the plant, create a Greenhouse using the builder mode. Make sure you have the necessary materials beforehand. You also need to have at least skill level 1 in Botany, which should already be done if you are not at the very beginning of your journey in Starfield.

Go to the Greenhouse’s Control Console and select Stimulant as the desired resource for production. You only need one Water per Stimulant for production, so crafting shouldn’t be a hassle. Build a Water Extractor nearby, which will ensure you aren’t low on the ingredient.

Apart from crafting, you can buy Stimulants from vendors such as Fast Hoang in Valo or Clint De Haven in Alpha Centauri. Fauna like Ankylosaurus and Brightcage also dropped the resource. Upon completing certain missions, you get Stimulants as a reward, but crafting will remain the best method if you are looking to farm them on a large scale.

Where to Use Stimulants in Starfield?

Stimulants are used for crafting powerful drugs.

Stimulants are generally used for crafting drugs such as Aurora and Whiteout in Starfield. If you are unfamiliar with Aurora, it allows users to slow down time by 40% for 10s. However, it is only legal in the city of Neon and will be considered contraband in other locations.

On the other hand, Whiteout is a more offensive drug that increases the damage by 25% and movement speed by 35% for 120s. Both these drugs are super addictive, so use them only when needed.

Lastly, you will need Stimulants during your performance enhancement 3 and 4 in the Research Project. There isn’t much need for the resource apart from crafting the aforementioned drugs and completing the tasks, so farm them accordingly.
