State police stand-off in Monroe County ends with arrest

MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a stand-off occurred in Monroe County that ended with a man’s arrest.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on November 12, troopers were called to a residence on Sky Hawk Trail in Middle Smithfield Township for a disturbance.

Through an investigation, it was determined that a fight happened, and the suspect fledthe scene. An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, Hollis Samuel Edwards.

On November 13, troopers said Edwards was believed to be inside a residence on Sky Hawk Trail but refused to leave. Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) arrived and got Edwards out of the residence.

He was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility on the charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment.
