STM Loves: Cyndi Lauper, The Moogai, The Bridge House, Burrata Bar, A Bite To Eat With Alice & Brett Whiteley
One of pop’s true icons, Cyndi Lauper, is hanging up the mic with a farewell tour, featuring The Veronicas, which hits Perth in 2025. Known for her distinctive voice, punk-inspired glamour and infectious live shows, Lauper is a music powerhouse — her anthems include Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, True Colours and Time After Time — and an advocate for the rights of women and the LGBTIQA+ community. The tour follows the release of Let The Canary Sing, a documentary about her life. The show will be at RAC Arena on April 12. Tickets are on sale now.
If you’re looking for a spooky way to spend Halloween, this First Nations psychological horror film is in cinemas on October 31. Recently awarded the $100,000 film prize at Cinefest Oz, it tells the story of a young mother (WAAPA graduate Shari Sebbens) who starts to see a malevolent spirit she believes is trying to take her newborn baby. The film, which explores intergenerational trauma and the Stolen Generations, also stars WA’s Meyne Wyatt and is from the producers of The Babadook and Talk To Me.
